is a success!

IMG_3854.JPEG

The Valley Chorus' spring concert, "The Eras Concert", was a huge hit with audiences this past weekend both in Towanda and Waverly. The chorus performed songs from the history of American pop music to fantastic crowds.

Thank you to all who came out to see our show. We had a great time singing for you, and are already looking forward to getting started on new music in the fall.

Kevin Doherty is a musician and educator from Tioga Center, NY, who has nurtured a lifelong love of singing by making it his career and many of his hobbies. He spends his days directing five choruses, giving voice lessons, and teaching general music, music technology, and media at the Middle/High School in Waverly, NY.

As a performer, Kevin has sung and played in a variety of styles and musical situations, but one of his greatest joys was performing with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, the primary chorus for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops. Over his 12 years in the group he performed more than 120 times in venues around the world including Boston’s Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Royal Albert Hall under the direction of some of the greatest conductors in the world. Kevin now sings as a member of the Southern Tier Singer’s Collective, our region’s new professional chamber choir. He is also active in the twin tiers as a tenor soloist, bass player, and drummer.

Kevin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Binghamton University and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the Boston Conservatory. He is active in the world of contemporary a cappella music, acting as an adjudicator for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. He conducted his first All-County Choral Festival in 2017.

Kevin also loves travelling, video games, and spending time outdoors biking, running, hiking, camping, and playing various sports. He lives in South Waverly, PA with his incredible wife, Michelle, their three wonderful children, Aiden, Emma, and Leyna, a dog, cat, and a ferret.
