2010 Valley Chorus Scholarship Application Form

Purpose:  The Valley Chorus Annual Scholarship Award has been established to reward local young people’s endeavors in the vocal performing arts by offering monetary gift awards.  Scholarship awards will be given out in the following increments:

                                 First place award:  $250.00
                                Second place award:  $150.00
                                Third place award:  $100.00

Eligibility: Graduating Seniors from the Waverly, NY; Tioga Center, NY; Sayre, PA and Athens, PA School Districts.

Criteria to receive Scholarships include:
     
  Applicants must have participated in vocal programs at school, church, and/or private instruction, etc.

  Applicants must have participated in community vocal performances, but not limited to Valley Chorus and school musicals.

  Applicants must return completed application with three (3) references from your music educator/instructor, a teacher, and a non-family personal reference.

  Applicants must provide a recorded sample of your vocal ability.  All submissions become the property of the Valley Chorus.

  Applicants must enclose a brief written personal biography concerning your involvement in music, your goals for furthering your education, and your aspirations for your future.

  All scholarship award submissions must be mailed to "Valley Chorus", P.O. Box 145, Athens, PA. 18810 and postmarked no later than April 1, 2010.  Scholarship application forms and checklist are available below in PDF format by clicking on the form request button.

  Winning applicants must be present at our "Big Band Spring Concert" at the Waverly High School Auditorium, May 7, 2010 at 7:00 PM.         

      All applications will be reviewed by the Valley Chorus Governing Board.  Winners will be notified by phone no later than May 1, 2010.
